When it comes to fragrance i have to be quite careful, often if a fragrance is too rich or heavy i get a headache and it makes me regret wearing it. Dior is a brand i know i have to be very careful with and i basically can't wear them so when i thought i would try Tom Ford fragrances i knew i needed to test it before i committed to it. I usually stick to very light, fresh, floral fragrances however i needed something that was slightly richer for the evenings when i actually make it out of the house.
I spent a ridiculous amount of time on various Tom Ford counters trying to pick which one i really liked. Surprisingly i wasn't wowed by any of the Private Blend Tom Ford fragrances however i did fall in love with Velvet Orchid. When i smelt it i knew it was everything i had been looking for but i had to consider if it would stand the test of time so i sprayed it on myself and then left and i did this multiple times before i purchased the 50ml bottle.
Velvet Orchid has notes of bergamot and mandarin which keeps it slightly fresh but the main note is black orchid which Tom Ford fragrance is very famous for, mixed with velvet orchid and a rose accord. There are also other floral notes which keep it very feminine and sandalwood and vanilla. All of these ingredients help to forge a very rich, deep floral fragrance which creates a very sexy scent when it is worn.
It is the perfect evening fragrance and it doesn't give me a headache which is a bonus. I highly recommend it if you are in the market for an evening fragrance or if you are a fragrance fan. I only bought the 50ml bottle because i have soooo much perfume already and i don't go out very often so i don't want it to go off before i finish using it. However i hate buying the small bottles because they are rubbish value which is why i didn't go for the 30ml. Go to your nearest Tom Ford counter and smell this fragrance and try it on because it is ridiculously beautiful. It is coming up to Christmas and this would be an amazing fragrances for all the Christmas parties you are going to.
